The excursion to the Agur waterfalls, which we went on, is suitable for people of any age and physical fitness (you don’t need to walk a lot). In addition to the Agur Gorge, it included Mount Akhun, there are excursions with Stalin's dacha and other nearby attractions.

Tour buses enter the Agur Gorge from below, from Kurortny Prospekt, and stop at a large parking lot in front of the bridge. Here flows the muddy «Milk River» with a characteristic smell of hydrogen sulfide.

Entrance to the Agur Gorge (National Park) — 200 rubles, paid separately from the tour. To the right of the ticket office there are information boards with a description of the route and a wooden eagle «Agur waterfalls», with which everyone takes pictures. We listened to the guide's story and followed her along the route.

The small Devil's Kupel Lake is a stone bowl, where a threshold 3 meters high falls. Many mistakenly think that this is the first Agur waterfall.

Under the lake there is a cave Devil's hole with a length of 252 meters. You can get into the cave only when the river dries up. This rare natural phenomenon last happened at the end of August 2022 after a two-week drought.

We were given free time to explore, after which we returned the same way back to the bus. In the warm season, people swim in the Chertova Kupel lake.

As the guide said, before the excursion to the Agur waterfalls included climbing to the topmost waterfall. But now people are not ready for such physical exertion, and therefore the route has been shortened. In the second part of the tour, we were taken to Mount Akhun and finished with a tasting of local cheeses, wines and chacha.

For a combined tour, this option is quite suitable. But if you want to see all three Agur waterfalls, you have to walk to them, which we did the day before.

Agur waterfalls on your own

Agura River

A short independent route to the Agur waterfalls: from the stop & # 171; Sputnik & # 187; to the Devil's Font — the same as with a tour, only you get to the place yourself. From below you can climb to the first, most spectacular Agursky waterfall.

If you decide to go the whole route, keep in mind that the height difference from the first to the third waterfall is 350 meters. Be sure to wear sports shoes, take water and a snack with you.

Agurskoe gorge in spring

We passed the Agur Gorge from top to bottom from the Eagle Rocks. The weather in mid-April was favorable: comfortable air temperature, full-flowing waterfalls, flowering vegetation.

You can go to the Agur Falls and Eagle Rocks with an experienced guide. The route is designed for 5 hours. It's more fun and safer to go in company!

The road between the waterfalls

The hiking trail runs along the Agura River in the shade of the Colchis and beech forests. On steep cliffs, impregnable entrances to the caves are visible. Along the way, you meet the full biodiversity of nature: plants listed in the Red Book, endemics, rare birds and animals. When you admire the surrounding beauties, do not forget to look under your feet.

Upper Agur waterfall 23 meters high. Water falls in wide cascades from a sheer cliff. The observation deck is fenced, you can’t go down and swim, only take pictures. Eagle Rocks rise above the trail near the Upper waterfall.

Medium Agur waterfall 21 meters high — wide and multi-jet, flowing into a natural pool 5 meters deep. At this point, the path runs along the steep edge of the cliff, covered with vegetation. The road to the Second Agur waterfall is very steep with stairs.

Lower Agur waterfall has two cascades: water falls from a height of 18 and 12 meters, as if splitting in the middle. You can easily go down to this waterfall and even swim. We sat on the rocks, soaked our feet in the cool turquoise water and rested. The mountain river relieves stress and energizes.

The distance from the First Agur waterfall to the Devil's Kupel is 1.5 km. If you go from below, you can climb up to it. The only difficulty — destroyed bridge across the bed of the river Agura.

Living arch

The lower part of the tourist route along the Agur Gorge is equipped with signs and benches. On it we met «Tears of Prometheus», «One-Eyed Tree», «Kingdom of Moss», «Living Arch». If you look up at the Eagle Rocks, you can see the statue of Prometheus.

Vysotsky's Glade in Sochi

Having passed the Devil's Font, we left the gorge and went to the bus stop. Along the way, a small Glade of Vysotsky with his full-length monument with a guitar. They say that in the 70s of the last century, Vladimir Vysotsky with his wife Marina Vladi and friends stopped at this place for a picnic.
