One of the reasons is the reduction in air travel
Antalya will lose 2.5 million tourists from Russia
Specialists Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) stated that by the end of the year the Turkish resort Antalya may lose 2.5 million Russian tourists (45%) compared to the same indicator in 2019.
The ATOR website specifies that one of the main reasons for the drop in demand is a significant reduction in air travel against the backdrop of Western sanctions.
From January to May 2022, 367.8 thousand Russians arrived in Antalya, which is 70.6% less than before the pandemic. If all the remaining months of the high tourist season fly 500 flights a week, then about 2.5 million tourists will be able to get to the resort city.
