Iran cancels visas for tourists from Russia

Iranian authorities have agreed to cancel entry visas for Russian tourists traveling in organized groups.

Such agreements have been reached by the governments of the two countries. They are also valid for Iranians who want to get to Russia.

The visa-free regime will start working from January 1st. It applies to tourist groups from 5 to 50 people. The visa will be valid for a maximum of 15 days.

The term of the intergovernmental agreement is 1 year. But in December 2023, it can be extended for another year. In the near future, the Russian Federation and Iran will exchange data on travel agencies that will take their citizens to a foreign country.
