The Kingdom of Bhutan is reopening to foreign tourists after a two-year hiatus.
Bhutan is one of the most closed countries in the world. It was opened to foreigners only in 1974. Before that, it was possible to get there only at the personal invitation of the king. Since then, only a few thousand visitors have visited the country every year.
Due to the pandemic, the country has again completely closed. Now it's open, but the guest fee is tripled from $65 to $200.
