Another city of the Golden Ring will celebrate a round date this weekend. On June 12, Pereslavl-Zalessky will celebrate 870 years since its founding.

For Pereslavl, this is the day of three holidays: City Day, the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter I and Russia Day.
Festive events in Pereslavl will begin at noon. In the water area of Lake Pleshcheyevo, the festival “Sails of Lake Pleshcheyevo” is waiting for guests, dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Peter I and the 330th anniversary of the launch of the amusing flotilla. In the program – an open cup in sea all-around, a folk regatta and a parade of ships of the festival participants. The ships will start moving from the right embankment and move towards the lake, headed by a complete copy of the boat of Peter the Great.
A fair will take place on Red Square with the participation of masters from historical reconstruction clubs. Here you can try on armor, take pictures and take part in amateur tournaments. At 15.00, guests of the festival will be able to see the Cossack rite “Horse Mounting”.
An ice cream festival will be held on People's Square in the afternoon for the young guests of the holiday. Here at five o'clock in the evening there will be a festive program “Pereslavl-Zalessky – 870”, where the marathon “Dancing City” will be held and the festival “Vivat, Pereslavl!” featuring guest artists. In the evening, soloists of the Valentina Levko Vocal Art Center (Moscow) will perform world opera hits for residents and guests of the city.
The program will end with festive fireworks.
