Russian Ambassador did not find Russian tourists in Greece

Russian Ambassador to Greece Andrei Maslov said that there are practically no Russian tourists in the country this season. The diplomat made such a statement on television.

"In microscopic quantities, of course, tourists penetrate. But I will say without any exaggeration that this year there is practically no Russian tourism in Greece,” the ambassador said. According to him, the main reasons are the closure of direct flights and the inability to use Russian bank cards.

According to him, the absence of Russians has seriously hit the tourism industry in Greece. Maslov is confident that Greek hotels and restaurants will suffer significant losses.

The country's authorities say that the shortage of Russians will be compensated by guests from other countries. According to Athens, an average of 500 thousand Russian citizens came to Greece a year, and the total tourist flow this season should reach 35 million tourists.
