The government of Kamchatka stated that now there are more than ten types of tourism in the region and listed nine of them: gastronomic, business, industrial, ecological, event, nau educational, ethnographic and sports tourism, as well as birdwatching (bird watching).

In general, according to the regional authorities, the tourism industry in the region is developing very successfully. The head of the regional Ministry of Tourism Vladimir Rusanov said that in 2021 245,000 tourists visited Kamchatka. This is 30% more than in 2015.
