The photo exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society “The Most Beautiful Country” can now be viewed at the Zavidovo resort. An exposition of 15 works from different years, united by a common theme – “rivers of Russia”, is presented in the Tsarevna restaurant.

Photo contest of the Russian Geographical Society “The most beautiful country” has been held annually since 2015. Over the eight years of its existence, the competition has turned into a large-scale media project, as a result of which it is possible to study the nature, history, architecture and society of our country. In 2022, the VIII photo contest received 46,893 entries from 5,934 authors, including 669 children. Over the eight years of the competition, it received about 800,000 photos from more than 90,000 participants.
The exposition presented at the Zavidovo resort includes works of different years from different categories. So, for example, the photograph «Sulak Canyon – deepest canyon in Europe was sent as part of one of the most popular – “Landscape” in 2020. It depicts a canyon located in the central part of Dagestan, in the valley of the Sulak River – this is one of the most visited natural attractions of the republic by tourists. And the photo “Bridge over the Don River” became a finalist of the 2019 competition in the nomination “Russia from a bird's eye view”.
Each photo of the competition is unique. For these shots, photographers climb mountains and risk their lives following wild animals; others descend to the bottom of the sea to show the diversity of the underwater world; others get to know people and take pictures to tell amazing life stories.
With this photo contest, the Russian Geographical Society also inspires compatriots living around the world to travel around Russia, create own unique shots.
