Russian media who arrived in the country this year, despite unprecedented sanctions and restrictions, are written by the Bulgarian media.

In January-May 2022, 33.5 thousand tourists from Russia arrived in Bulgaria. This is 4 times more than in the same period last year.

After the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, direct flights between Russia and Bulgaria ceased. In addition, Russian bank cards do not work in the country, and euros are not sold in the Russian Federation.

However, Russians still massively tend to the beaches of Burgas, Varna and Sunny Beach. You can fly there with a transfer in Istanbul or Yerevan.
